Adams, Billie

Billie Louise McGregor Adams, 87, of Richland Springs, passed away on October 25, 2007 at her residence.

Billie Louise McGregor Adams was born November 4, 1919 in Algerita, TX to Forrest & Mary McGregor. She graduated from Richland Springs High School

in 1936 and Texas State Womens College (now TWU) in 1940. She worked as a teacher and as a librarian.

She married Dean Adams, Sr. on December 11, 1944. They had three children: Donna Wigley (Don) of Dallas, Mary Katherine Adams of Richland Springs, Dean Adams, Jr. (Judy) of New Braunfels. Five Grandchildren: Shaye Adams Sanchez (Johnny) of Kyle, Jeff Wigley of Dallas, Dean Adams III & Eddy Harris of Austin, Devin Wigley of Dallas and Manda Wigley Salinas (Fred) of Gautier, MS. Two Great-grandchildren, JD Sanchez of Kyle and Maisie Salinas of Gautier, MS.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, two brothers, two sisters and one nephew. She is survived by her children and their families, two nephews, and many friends too numerous to count.

She was a faithful servant in both the First Baptist Church and First Christian Church of Richland Springs for many years.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Velita and Teresa. Mother received her crown of righteousness on October 25, 2007.

Memorial service were held on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Richland Springs. Services under the direction of Howell-Doran Funeral Home, San Saba, Texas

Ake, Henry Coolidge

Coolidge Henry Ake, 88 of Cherokee passed away Sunday, March 18,2012.

Coolidge was born on November 22, 1923 in Concho County, Texas to Jim Henry Ake and Cora Hardin. Coolidge was a Draftsman and worked in aircraft manufacturing for the U.S. Government. Coolidge served his country in the Army Air Corps in World War II. Coolidge loved people and loved to talk.

Coolidge is survived by his wife Pearl "Perky" of Cherokee, Texas; his sons, Wayne Ake of Cherokee, Joel Ake and Donna of Clinton, Massachusetts; daughter, Lisa Ake and Fred of Leander, Texas; grandchildren, Jesse Ake, Shayda Bakhshi, and Nicholas Bakhshi; one brother, Leonard Ake and Lupe of Kansas; and two sisters, Alvina and Jimmie. Coolidge was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held graveside on Friday, March 23, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at the Cherokee Cemetery with Doug Suggs officiating.

Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel. The family requests that memorials be made to Cherokee Children's Home.
